Assisting Parents and Teens Worldwide to have Fulfilling Relationships

Parent Coach

My experience using coaching to parent my children has given me the confidence to modify my professional & personal coaching skills into Parent Coach materials.

There was progressive improvements in my relationship as well as increased confidence on the part of my children. When this led to improvements in my youngest daughter's grades at school and increased responsibility and independence with her homework. Quality conversations with my children created opportunities for us to know each other better, their values, thoughts and knowledge; I knew I had to share this with others.

The parent-coach model helps us as adults to examine our own core beliefs and respect the emerging beliefs of our Teens.

Instead of teaching how to manage and control teens, Parent as Coach helps us appreciate the unique perspective of our teens and to express understanding, respect, and appreciate who they are right now.

A Parent Coach does not dictate how to grow up; instead, he or she guides, mentor, motivates, & coach young people to their own solutions, inherent gifts, and the path to a meaningful and purposeful life.

Who is Parent Coach For?
Parent as Coach is for adults everywhere who find working with or parenting teens challenging. Relationships between parents and teens or educators and teens can be rewarding, fun, endearing, and energizing.

Why was Parent Coach created?
Out of necessity for one parent.
- Parent Coach founder Dolly Yeo discovered that previous ways of parenting were not working as her children matured into teens in the 21st Century.
- As a parent and also trained as a professional & personal coach, she found that the skills and processes she used with her adult clients can be modified to effectively coach her three children transitioning into teens.
- Emerging from her deep interests in wanting to help her teens and other young people grow into happy and productive adults, Dolly developed Parent Coach for herself and for those who care for teenagers everywhere.

Why is Parent Coach Important?
Teens need adults who can help them to find their own way in life.
- Teens do not want or need adults to tell them what to do, what they know or don't know.
- Teens who feel understood, respected and appreciated are more aware of themselves and and know who they are.
- When teens feel understood they are more involved and motivated and are far more compassionate and easy to get along with.
- When teens feel that they are seen as responsible, they assume self-responsibility.
- When teens feel appreciated, they are more willing to feel and show gratitude.
- When parents listens and ask effective questions through being a Parent Coach, the result can be the parent as a role model and the child discovering values that bond them to a nurturing and loving relationships that both parents and teens treasure.

Why is it our Responsibility?
Parent Coach is about educating our teens to be responsible, confident and happy teens we love and hold dear in our lives; Such that they are a contribution to the society.
- As Parents, it is our responsibility to assist and guide our teens build the confidence to handle the challenges in life, the courage to take on new adventures, and to develop compassion.
- As adults and educators, we are responsible because we want our work to make a difference beyond reading, writing, and Maths. We are responsible for providing our teens with the best possible tools to make conscientious life choices.
- As citizens, we care because through globalization we live in an environment that is going through a cultural change. It is our responsibility to mentor teens to embrace change as they learn their part as accountable citizens.
